Walking is a great way to get out and reach your fitness goals.  I always tell our walking group to remember that a mile is a mile, no matter how fast.  Walking is by far one of my favorite activities and that is why I incorporate it into my runs.

Five Walking Levels:
Leisure Walk              70 steps/minute     2mph
Casual Walk               100 steps/minute   2.5mph
Purposeful Walk       120 steps/minute    3mph
Brisk Walk                 135 steps/minute    3.5-4mph
Power Walk               150 steps/minute    4.5mph
